The Breakfast Muffin

Mornings are not my thing, I do not like waking up early and I would not mind staying in bed until four o’ clock in the afternoon. When I feel exhausted and I walk downstairs like a zombie, I usually am in desperate need of some food. Nothing seems to satisfy me and all I crave is chocolate and other types of sweet goodness, which we all know is not a good idea. These types of food will give you energy for a short period of time, but after this, you will feel even more tired than you did before. In the morning you need a good, nutritious breakfast keeping you satisfied until lunchtime.
I have never been a 'breakfast person,' meaning breakfast is not my favorite meal of the day. I definitely prefer snacks to main meals, chocolate, cookies, muffins, I love them all. If it were to be up to me, I would eat unhealthy all day. Those snacks sneakily appear in the cookie jar and I always end up eating them not entirely against my will. I not only dislike breakfast, I also usually do not have the time to have a huge, delicious meal.
Even though it does not taste exactly like the fattening but delicious muffins I am used to, I think I found an amazing alternative. These muffins are not only great for breakfast, but also as a quick snack on the go. Since these muffins are sweet, but also quite healthy, you do not have to feel guilty while eating them. This is quick, since you make a ton in the weekend, and you can eat them throughout the entire week. Overall, this is a great alternative to your usual breakfast.

Ingredients:
* 200 g of rising flour
* 100 g of oats
* 50 g of bastard sugar
* 1 tsp of cinnamon
* 1 tsp of salt
* 2 mashed bananas
* 2 large, separated eggs
* 3 tbsp (olive) oil
* 250 ml of milk
* 125 g of a fruit of your choice

Preheat the oven at 200 degrees
Add the rising flour, oats, bastard sugar, cinnamon and salt in a large mixing bowl and combine.
Now add the mashed bananas, egg yolks, milk and (olive) oil. Mix this together gently with a wooden spoon until you get a wet batter (do not overmix!)
In a separate bowl, mix the egg whites until it looks like strong, white foam.
Gently fold the egg white into the mixture and add the fruit of your choice (in my case the raspberries and strawberries) Mix until everything is mixed through evenly.
Pick some cute muffin cases and divide the muffin mixture between approximately twelve cases.
Now it is time to put our muffins in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
Leave them for a while until they are cooled
This is the time for the fun part, the taste test! Enjoy!

A Day In Amsterdam

What I am wearing:
Blue top ~ H&M
Coat ~ forever 21
Scarf ~ new yorker
Hat ~ forever 21
Jeans ~ hollister
Bag ~ cowboysbag
Shoes ~ converse all stars

Amsterdam, a city I love. I know it's got its bad sides, but what place doesn't? It is not only a wonderful place to do a bit of shopping, but it is also incredibly cozy and cute. I suppose you could just look at my pictures and tell by seeing the cute houses and christmas lighting. I'm from the countryside in the Netherlands, so Amsterdam is amazing for a change of scene. It is one of my favorite cities, and I have been to quite a few big cities. I took lots of pictures of the houses, because well, they're gorgeous and I bought myself the tastiest toffee nut latte at starbucks. Since I mentioned I did quite a bit of shopping: you will be seeing a little haul very soon! So be excited! Because I am ;)

The Autumn Look

Yay! Autumn has finally come, even though this means cycling through rainstorms, wearing gloves (meaning you can't use your phone) and being so cold you literally feel like your fingers are going go freeze off, it also means wrapping yourself in blankets, autumnal starbucks drinks and cozy scarfs to keep you warm. Even though the no-makeup days are the best during autumn, since I love my lazy sundays and the cold seems to be a great reason for being lazy, I also have to get out of the house every now and then. For me this just screams make-up. Not that I wear make-up every time I leave the house, but personally, I just think it is so much fun!
Not only do the colours of the leaves change, I also change up my make-up routine during this time of year. The peacy-pinks leave my stash and I include the dark red lipsticks and the eyeliner. During summer, I feel like make-up just sweats off my face, I'd rather wear no make-up at all or at least don't bother to much with it. But autumn and winter on the other hand are a conpletely different story. My passion for make-up wakes up and I love it. So here it comes, my autumn make-up look!
(Top right: Rimmel wake me up! Concealer, next to that: the They're Real mascara by Benefit, top left: Rimmel gel-eyeliner, next to that: Rituals... Cheek and eye glow in peach, bottom left: Sephora eyebrow kit in midnight brown)
The base: The tea tree flawless BB cream in 02 by the Body Shop. Since I have quite blemished skin, I feel like because of the tea tree, this somehow is not as bad for my skin as an actual foundation or regular BB cream. Furthermore, this just gives amazing seemless coverage and it looks amazing on the skin.
The main part of this look: the liptsticks! Yay! The one on the left is by essence in the shade 04, on the catwalk. The one on the right is by Rimmel (Kate Moss collection) in the shade 105. On the catwalk is an amazing dark red/berry colour and 105 is a bit more toned down, a bit red/brownish. If I am feeling brave, I go for on the catwalk.

And here you go! The result with all the stuff on the face. What do you think? Leave it bellow :)

The Blush Faves

 Blush is one of my favorite make-up products, even though the difference between a face with blush and one without is not as big as the difference between a face with mascara and one without, I still seem to enjoy it more than anything else. Blush makes me feel feminine and pretty, and every girl should feel feminine and pretty. That is why I decided to share my top 3 favorite blushes with you.

 #3: The Affordable One
The e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer kit
This is awesome, pigmentation is great, colour is beautiful, a    bronzer is included and it is incredibly inexpensive. The bronzer is not great, the color is a bit odd and it's quite shimmery, meaning I do not use it to contour, but as a bronzy blush. The actual blush is like a rosy pink with golden shimmer.
4 euros for a blush is insane for the quality. Anyone out there looking for affordable make-up, go to e.l.f., now. It's awesome.

 #2: The Popular One
Naked Urban Decay Flushed
A bronzer, highlighter and a blush in one. Bronzer has the perfect amount of pigmentation, not too much, just enough to make your face look perfectly natural. The highlighter has a slight hint of pink running through it, not only meaning it looks more natural, but also matching the pink of the blush. I adore this blush color, it's darker than the last one, great for auttumn. This dusty pink creates the perfect 'flush.' ;)

 #1: The underestimated one
The Rituals blush
This peacy coloured blush-highlighter-bronzer combo is literally amazing (hence it's my number one). I just swirl my brush through the colors I feel like wearing on my cheeks that day. It is just too easy and beautiful and pretty. The reason I called this the underestimated one is because Rituals... is an extremely underestimated brand. Rituals is one of the best make-up and body brands out there and it deserves more attention.
TIP! Use the brown and coppery/peacy shades as eyeshadow!

Travelling the world

Ever since I was just two years old, I've been travelling the world. It has always been a passion I conveniently share with my parents, since they're the ones taking me places (and the ones who pay when we go together). I love exploring, learning about a culture and meeting new people. I know I have been blessed with the ability to travel places and to see the world, this is definitely not me trying to brag about something like this. This is me trying  to teach you something that might make your life a little better.
Something happened to me, a while ago, I won't bore you with my personal life, but it made me feel down. I was, and I still am, quite depressed, I don't feel happy, I don't feel like myself and I don't want to do anything. Let's face it, I just feel rubbish. I feel like after all this time I'm on my own again, not depending on anyone or anything. And this makes me feel empty, like I'm not good enough, like I need something or someone to fill the gap I feel inside of me. This got me thinking. Why can't I be just as good on my own, why not do the things I love doing but do not dare to do because I keep wondering what others might think, or because not doing it feels safer. Why would I play it safe all the time? I'm still young, probably to young to be thinking, let alone, writing about something deep like this.

I decided to enjoy every little good thing, I decided to make my happiness, not wait for it to come to me, and to make my days worth living them, in stead of having someone else to do this for me. I'm going to bring my dreams to life. I want to travel the world. Always have I wondered if I would, because someone might miss me, or I might have to go alone. But I'm doing it (a little further on in life) just because I want to. I want to study abroad, preferably in London, Paris or Milan. Again, someone might miss me or I might have to go alone, but I want to do it. I want to become an actress, but I keep telling myself I'm not good enough and I will never make it, despite what other people tell me. But now, I'm trying, it might not work, but I'm trying. I want to have my own blog, I want to share my stories, my life, my fashion and everything making me happy with the internet. I never attempted because I asumed I'd never continue, I asumed nobody would want to hear my stories. But here I am, writing, on an actual online blog, just trying it out. I want to create a youtube channel, it is easier to share my life by vlogs than blogs, since I'm definitely more of a talker. But the thing stopping me is other people's opinions. People could make fun of me for it, because  they do not understand.
My point I'm trying to make is that you shouldn't stop dreaming because someone tells you you can't do it, or because you are too insecure. Live for yourself, follow your dreams and do what makes you happy, unless that thing might physically hurt someone in any way, then please don't. ;)
PS: I just felt like a more serious post, hope that's okay. Hope it helps someone out, or inspires someone, or anything like that. Thanks for stopping by. :p

What's in my make-up bag?

Ever since I started watching youtube videos, my interest in beauty started to grow. I discovered there was more to make-up than just my drugstore mascara. My make-up collection has been growing ever since. I simply enjoy testing different products and actually feel like doing my make-up relaxes me. I have probably been collecting for about a year now and I decided to share my favorit bits and pieces with you.

This is my make-up bag, it's from tony & guy, since I got it with a few sample-sizes in this thing. I actually am quite addicted to buying maku-up bags, though this seems to be my favorite.

 My all-time favorite mascara must be the 'they're real' mascara by benefit. I adore this mascara, though I usually do not enjoy the plastic wand. This mascara makes my lashes look voluminous, black, long and seperates them quite well, this also literally stays all day and does not smudge whatsoever. Because no mascara seems to seperate my lashes perfectly (probably because of my bad techniques) I then go for the 'one by one volum' express' mascara by maybelline New York. This mascara is empty, but the wand is perfect for seperating your lashes after using your first mascara. Even though I use it now it's empty, I did really enjoy it while it lasted, it seperated my lashes amazingly but wasn't as voluminous as my 'they're real' mascara.
It might be difficult to see, but on the left, I put my 'maybelline color tattoo 24hr' in the shade ' on and on bronze' next to my mascaras. This is called 'bad to the bronze' in other coutries, but is the exact same color. I love this, you literally put this on your lids and 'boom,'  perfect eyeshadow all day. Takes you two seconds and looks like you spend half an hour. Lovely.
 Though this eyeshadow double from catrice looks brownish in the pictures, they actually both are an amazing shade of purple. They are quite pigmented, but the darkest shade is quite soft as well. I personally enjoy this because it makes putting it on easier, it is less harsh and very blendable. The darker shade is amazing for in your crease and the lighter shade is a perfect all-over lid colour. The palette is called 'beauty bouquet' and it's from the 'eve in bloom' collection by catrice. These palettes are amazing since they are great quality, small and are like 3 euros.
Next to this duo, you can see my ELF waterproof eyeliner pencil. This eyeliner is amazing, it's black, longlasting and the tip is really slim, so creating a beautiful slim line is extremely easy with this thing. I can't work with any eyeliner, but this literally saved me. And all that for only 1 euro! Wow!
 Swatches from left to right:
 *'maybelline color tattoo 24hr' in 'On and on bronze'
*Catrice 'beauty bouquet' darker colour
*Catrice 'beauty bouquet' lighter colour

My extremely well-loved eyebrow kit by Sephora in the shade 'midnight brown.' I use this so often, the writing on the back has worn off and I've hit pan on my shade (need I say more?). The first shade matches my eyebrows perfectly and the wax is amazing to stick the hairs down. This makes your eyebrows look very natural and amazing. Note: Also amazing for traveling, since it contains a pair of tweezers, a small angled brush to apply the product and a mascara brush to comb through your eyebrows. Everything you want in one small kit.
The lipstick on the right is my most used lipstick. Again an amazing ELF product, again just 1 euro. Obviously, the packaging isn't the best, but I can't complain for that price. The quality is amazing, just as the colour and pigmentation. This is in the shade 'charming.
 Swatched it on my lips, the perfect pink colour, that's not too much out there and very wearable.

The next few products are face related, these save my life when I'm having a bad skin day. This first product is a BB-cream by Maybelline, it's the 'dream pure 8-in-1 BB cream.' I love BB-creams, especially on those days where you don't want to put too much effort into doing your make-up, but you definately need some coverage. I get this all the time, since my skin is not as clear as I want it to be. This specific BB-cream is especially for those of us with oily/problem skin. It conceals blemishes and redness, protects against the appearance of blemishes, contains spf 15, is oil-free, minimizes appearance of pores, clarifies your skin's look, hydrates, smoothes and complements your skintone. Wow, that's a lot of things, but it definately works. I feel like a full-on foundation breaks me out and is way too heavy, that makes this perfect for people like me. It doesn't break me out and looks amazing.

 When I need a little more coverage then usual, which is all the time, I go for my 'make up studio face it cream foundation' in the shade 'light beige.' It's an extremely high-coverage cream foundation, meaning it's also a great concealer. I find it a bit too much as a foundation, since it makes your skin quite cakey looking. It looks amazing as a concealer though, I use this on my spots and blemishes. Underneath my eyes, I usually go for the 'rimmel wake me up' concealer in the shade 'soft beige.' This is a bit lighter, so great to highlight the undereye-area a bit. The coverage is quite good, nothing too heavy, but great for under the eyes.
The last product I want to share with you, it my 'ELF high definition powder' this stuff makes your make-up last all day and makes your skin feel super soft. The powder is loose, which makes applying it a little harder, but the result is amazing. It blurs out your imperfections and it amazing with flash-photography.

I hope you enjoyed taking a look inside of my make-up bag, I'll speak to you soon.

Small girl in an enormous online world

With approximately 152 million (!!) blogs on the internet, it is particularly difficult to be a newbie on this front. Even though being a beginner at something is fairly hard, I still decided to give it a go. Whether you start learning to play the piano or start your own blog, you have to start somewhere. Since I have quite the passion for writing, beauty and fashion, starting a blog almost seems obvious. I personally believe that if you really enjoy doing something, you will eventually get there and in my case be part of those 152 million bloggers.

I tend to be quite nervous when it comes to something like this, (though I am not a nervous or shy person at all.) I can stand in front of a big group of people and give an entire presentation about some irrelevant subject, being out in the open, but my blog suddenly has to be all anonymous? Maybe this is caused by the fact that my parents never let me share anything online, (not even a spam-email account) or maybe this is caused by the fact that I have never been a popular girl. It is not like I do not have any friends, don't worry, I am actually part of a group of friends who are quite popular. The thing is: out of those ten girls, I'm the geekiest of all. I am that girls who joins the yearly plays, has a strange sence of humor and watches youtube videos in her spare time.

So basically my point is that I will from now on write on this blog every other day, whether that is about lifestyle, beauty or fashion. I personally am really excited to spend my time writing content in stead of watching or reading it myself, even though I will keep doing that (obviously.) I hope you are as excited as I am and will enjoy my content, even though I am just a small girl in this enormous online world
